Project Webfoot

Project Webfoot, DUC’s elementary school program, links specifically to the Grade 4 to 6 curricula in jurisdictions across Canada. It creates the opportunity for students to apply their learning and connect with nature through safe, interactive and inspiring educational content both inside and outside the classroom. Research shows that this integrated approach provides a strong and compelling way for students to learn.

The program is delivered in several ways through:

  • in class and on-line resources for educators and students
  • field trips, which may include exploring a local wetland or participating in a mentoring program with secondary school students.  In locations where DUC-sponsored field trips are available teachers may find our How to Deliver a Wetland Field Trip helpful in planning your own trip.
  • outreach programs delivered in local classrooms and school communities

Since 1997 we have reached over a half-million students through Project Webfoot. Past surveys show that more than 95 per cent of teachers rate the program as good to excellent in meeting their teaching requirements.

Project Webfoot relies on the generosity of our sponsors. If you would like to know more about how you can support our education activities or our other conservation efforts, please email us!
